“If we have learned anything from Covid-19 it's that the systems, policies and business models that have long influenced the healthcare industry are in need of disruption.”
Jonathan Machado Investment Director, Samsung Next

Samsung Next is focused on increasing diversity throughout the tech ecosystem because racial, socioeconomic, and gender representation ensures vibrant solutions that address the needs of all people, not just the ones with access to capital and resources. Nowhere is this more important than in healthcare.

We partnered with HLTH, one of the world’s largest healthcare conferences, to highlight healthcare software and services with diverse founders or that are building solutions for underserved communities.

In less than two weeks, we received more than 200 applications from 17 countries featuring innovative solutions for a wide array of meaningful, not-yet-solved problems. Collectively, they painted a stark picture - that we still have a ways to go to ensure that ALL people can receive the healthcare they need and deserve. It was a difficult process narrowing the field but we’re excited to highlight 11 companies that stood out.
